Exhibitors gear up for SIAL

The show will host around 6,000 exhibitors from 100 different countries, with more than 150,000 visitors expected to attend

Meat industry exhibitors and visitors are preparing for the upcoming SIAL trade show in France next month (19-23 October).

Taking place at Paris Nord Villepinte, the show will host around 6,000 exhibitors from 100 different countries, with more than 150,000 visitors  expected to attend.

According to SIAL, meat is one of top three sectors represented at the show. Hall 6 is focused on the sector, and includes areas such as: fresh meat and tripe, fresh poultry and game, cured meats, frozen products, and fresh prepared foods.

Exhibitors from the global meat trade include: Canada Beef Inc, APM Frozen Meat (Spain), the Belgian Meat Office, Camdeboo Meat Processors (South Africa), Dunbia (UK), the Polish Beef Association, and the US Poultry & Egg Export Council.

Last year saw 225 fresh meat exhibitors, 110 exhibitors within poultry and 223 in the cured and salted meats section.

In addition there are the separate National Pavilions and Regions of the World (halls 1-4 and 8), gourmet products (hall 5b), and semi-processed food products and ingredients (hall 7).

This year the show also features a new section called Equipment, Technology and Services, which used to be a separate trade fair but is now an integral part of SIAL.

Nicolas Trentesaux, group director, SIAL, said: “SIAL Paris has fostered business opportunities for the food professions, for 50 years.

“The exhibition is regarded as a genuine business tool, showcasing the entrepreneurship alive in the global industry, a unique networking space and a true repository for global innovation.”
